It is quite often that you will feel constipated and nauseated following a surgery. You may even lack appetite at times. However, good food is very crucial in helping you to heal in any disease conditions. The choice of food you take after surgery is vital in helping one to gain full recovery in good time.  A healthy diet will improve your healing potential. Your diet should include lean protein to aid in wound healing by tissue formation.

The menu should also comprise of vitamins C and B12 as well as iron critical for hematological processes. Besides, having fiber and probiotics will help boost the immune system and combat infections that may worsen the situation. On the other hand, certain foods should be out of your menu for a while as you recover since they will impede your healing. Sugary foods and soft drink should be avoided since they can worsen the inflammations. It is vital that you eat even if you don’t feel like doing it.

3. Careful physical therapy is vital

Following surgery, you will hear people say that you stay on the bed. They will take care of you, and your support system will be at optimal performance then. Even though sufficient rest and sleep will be essential to healing after surgery, you should not stay static. It may be painful moving around, but you have to try walking and doing light exercise. The range of activity should be progressive and escalating by timing.
