How to Have Natural Glowing Skin

There is nothing like healthy glowing skin. No amount of makeup in the world can replicate it, and there is still nothing like going out on errand day and not having to wear makeup because you know that your skin looks glorious as it is.

So how do you achieve natural glowing skin without the assistance of weekly dermatologist appointments? Below are just some of the things that you can do to help your skin look soft and radiant, without having to break the bank at all these beauty clinics.

Exfoliate

The cornerstone of naturally glowing skin is proper and regular exfoliation. You could be genetically blessed but still have dull skin because of all the dead skin cells that have accumulated on there. As we age, the rate at which dead skin cells slough off slows down causing the skin to look saggy, patchy and even causing wrinkles to form. Do you ever wonder why older women often have saggy jowl while a lot of men don’t? It’s because shaving exfoliates that part of the face, assisting the skin in removing dead skin cells.

  • Use Exfoliating Soap – This is the easiest way to ensure that your skin will be glowing from head to toe and is the best natural skin care. You’re going to be soaping your skin anyway, might as well use an exfoliating soap. Oatmeal soaps, coffee soap or any of those soaps that have husks on them will do. Another great way to exfoliate using soap would be to choose the soap that has natural fruit acids on them. This will encourage micro-peeling so you won’t even notice you’re exfoliating, but your skin will look better than ever.
  • Create a Natural Facial Scrub from Your Kitchen – Facial scrubs are getting banned in the US because the granules used in these formulas have been proven to contribute to the pollution in the ocean. Create a facial/body scrub that doesn’t break the bank and doesn’t hurt Mother Nature by scouring your kitchen. Create a sugar scrub by mixing equal amounts of granulated sugar and olive oil, include a few drops of essential oils on there, and you’re gold! Pro tip: instead of throwing ground coffee away, you could also create a body scrub from that.
  • Turkish Bath Massage – It’s a traditional bath from Turkey that is known to improve blood circulation to the skin, making your skin look. It’s also believed to prevent and lessen the appearance of stretch marks. You are laid down on a slab of marbled and give the shock of your life by getting iced water thrown at you. Afterward, you will get a rather “hard” massage. The session will end with you getting scrubbed down from head to toe.

Moisturize

Aside from helping your skin slough off dead skin cells, it is also important to nourish skin.

  • Using Natural Oils – Tired of using moisturizers that are not only filled to the brim with chemicals but are also expensive and ineffective? Give your skin new life by using natural oils. Coconut oil, sunflower oil and yes, even olive oil can also be used to give your skin moisture.  You can use these oils either on your face of your body.
  • Korean Essences – Ever wonder why Koreans have such great dewy skin? They’re obsessed with skin care that’s why and one of Korean women’s best kept secret is the country’s wealth of “essences”. These essences are often used after cleansing your face but before putting on moisturizer. What they do is prep they skin to be able to absorb all the nutrients from the moisturizer. Most of these essences will have a hint of essential oils as well as fruit acids that will help break the ”stickiness” of skin cells. Allowing nutrients to be better absorbed.
  • Wear Sunscreen – All good beauty regimens will be nothing without sunscreen. Sunscreen not only prevents your skin from becoming dull, but it is also clinically proven to prevent the development of wrinkles and skin cancer.

Eat For Glowing Skin

Now that we’ve discussed cosmetic tips and tricks it’s time to go into the meat of the matter, pun intended. There is just so many external factors can do; real natural glowing, healthy skin is a product of what you eat. Like your liver or your heart, you skin is an organ, in fact, it is the largest organ in your body. So does it not make sense to maintain a diet that is good for your skin?

  • Water – More than 70% of our body weight is made up of water, it is the only medium in which most of the cellular processes can occur in and is responsible for plumping up cells. Drinking enough water is crucial for the healthy glowing skin as well as an ideal practice for the rest of your body.
  • Omega-3 Rich Diet – Oils, healthy oils that are, are good for your skin. Snack on nuts and lunch on salmon and avocados to get enough healthy oil to make your skin dewy as well as make your hair shiny!
